Year 7 pupils have been taking part in cycling training as part of a year-long project called GEAReD Up. The cycling element called BikeAbility is run by Sport North Tyneside and has proved a huge success with every pupil in Year 7 taking part.  Some pupils are now ready to embark on their Level 3 qualification whilst other have ridden a bike for the very first time.

The GEAReD_Up Project is more than just learning to ride bikes; it’s also helping us to build our confidence, communicate better, improve our health, connect more with our local primary schools and even get us thinking about work!

In the next stages of the project all the year group will learn first aid and how to save a life, plan our own bike ride as a fundraiser, do bike maintenance and also complete classroom challenges to earn house points.
